Art and Life, Life and Art: creating community
May 16: 11am-1pm, Kresge Town Hall
How do interventionists address the everyday as art?
Panelists: Susanne Cockrell and Ted Purves, Guillermo Gómez-Peña, Linda Montano, Judith
Rodenbeck, Annie Sprinkle and Elizabeth Stephens

This panel will discuss the ways in which the participating artists address the everyday as art. This everyday might be domestic, relational or political. Most likely this everyday will embody all of these qualities and more. This panel is composed of artists who are known primarily as performance artists. They have created a history from which interventionist practices have been able to grow. This history and the connections to interventionist art practices will be discussed as will the ongoing work of these artists, most of whom are currently practicing interventions under other names.
